About me,
Graham

Thanks for joining me here…

I feel truly blessed to have managed to do much more than just balance bipolar.

The real healing journey started to work by making a few simple life changes. Within a short period of time I came out of the crazy highs and suicidal lows. This started shortly after 2018.

Right now I am filled with gratitude and live with great purpose in my life.

This is by no means an episode or an ego trip. It is simply meaning that since starting my new daily practice I am now at a stage in life where I have no great needs or desires and can truly realise the true potential available right now.

I am filled with gratitude and can look back at my life and see how all my dreams and goals have been actualised. Now, I’m excited about helping more people who know they want to work their way out of their bipolar diagnosis.

Here’s me back in 2023 while in the UK to connect with family. My eldest sister took this snapshot. It was lovely to share an evening out connecting with our sis!

More about the hats…

I used to joke and say “if you wanna get a head, get a hat”. Ever since my teens I wanted a hat. I got to a stage where I started to compliment friends wearing hats. One really good friend told me to get myself a hat.

Now I say “if you wanna get ahead, get a hat”.

I literally did move ahead. I now love wearing hats!

How to keep young and create inner joy?

I went through a stage when all I was doing was working. Which was great as I love scuba diving. However, I wanted to get fitter and do something different. My thought was, how do I get fitter while being in nature.

A week later I was at a friends house when I saw an elderly Balinese gentleman polishing an old Giant ATX 970 full suspension mountain bike. He became a great friend and mentor. I eventually bought the bike, slowly I got back into cycling, which was a passion as a child.

I started to find some great nature trails, met lots of new friends into cycling, worked on creating and being a part of communities. This continues to grow.

To answer the question above – find things you really love doing, and share it with others ❤️

My philosophy on physical health and not getting too far overweight?

I have never really gained too much weight, if I ever put on excess weight and my trousers or shorts no longer fit properly, I do something about it.

Maybe it’s because I grew up being very frugal when it comes to spending that I didn’t want to buy bigger trousers. Whatever it was, I know deep down I don’t feel good when I’m a size bigger.

While working away I was eating lots of buffets which meant I ate far more than usual and this button popped. When I arrived back home, I stopped eating breakfasts. Found I had far more energy and haven’t eaten regular breakfasts since 2003.

Men’s groups

I was recently invited by a friend to go and join a mens group. I have been to a few mens groups and they didn’t really resonate with me.

This group sounded like it was different. The main difference being; the group was said to be about preventing suicide and working on emotional health for men.

This group of men are really quite something special. Not only have I made some great new friends, being one of the eldest in the group means I’m also learning a lot about what younger men are going through.

The main thing I enjoy about this group, is being of service and being able to share some of the experiences and lessons I’ve learnt along this journey!

Huge thanks to Calvin at OriginalCaptureCreative.com for capturing the moment here.

How are we meant to enjoy life?

We really are social beings, do as much as you can to create friendships. Say yes to events and truly “be there” for other people.

Huge thanks to Shane for taking this photo of me, without me even knowing!

January 2015 at work – onboard a superyacht

Just so people don’t think I’m bluffing, this is what I also do for a living.

However, even with the best work in the world, you can still become suicidally depressed.

It’s not about the work, or the place — it’s about the mindset!

This yacht happened to be the biggest and most expensive sailing yacht of its class at the time.
